A nurse practitioner (NP) is a registered nurse with the experience and expertise to diagnose and treat people of all ages with a variety of acute or chronic illness. Helen specialise in cancer treatment. NP 's have completed additional university study at a masters degree level and are the most senior clinical nurse in our health care systems.

The role aims to:

• Improve access to treatment for cancer patients

• Provide cost effective care,at no cost to consumers

• Provide outreach services where possible

• To mentor and provide  clinical expertise to other health care professionals

• Provide direct communication with all visiting oncologists and consumers.

Helen is available via the oncology unit from 8am till 430pm 5 days a week Mon-Fri
