Research: Breast cancer hope

Queensland scientists have discovered a molecule responsible for controlling a set of genes that, when “switched on”, can improve survival rates from the most common form of breast cancer by up to a decade. Now, they’re hoping to take their research one step further by working with a pharmaceutical company to develop a drug to target the molecule, called G9a, after finding a similar drug halved the size of tumours in mice.
